As an engineering intern at Gamebreaking Studios, you’ll get the opportunity to grow your game development skills in a passionate and highly collaborative environment. We’re looking for someone passionate about games to use their engineering skills to make an impact on a diverse array of game features!

In this internship, you’ll be primarily working on our Dungeon Rampage game! It’s a revival of a popular hack and slash flash game, engineered for Steam with some new improvements. On the Dungeon Rampage team, you’ll have the opportunity to touch many pieces of the Dungeon Rampage code base, from the backend to the frontend. Your contributions will directly impact the happiness of our players!

At Gamebreaking, the success of our interns is a top priority. We have a strong history of our interns being successful in the games industry both inside and outside of Gamebreaking. You will be paired with a highly experienced mentor to help guide your development throughout the program, as well as managerial resources to get you all the support you may need.

Duration and Employment Status

We are a fully remote working environment seeking current students, recent graduates ~1 year out of universities, or those with similar experience to join our company. This is an entry-level position with no prior work experience required, though candidates with prior work experience will be considered.

This position is a paid internship between 3 and 6 months duration, with the possibility of a direct hire to full-time at its conclusion. We seek a candidate able to work a minimum of 30 hours per week, with a preference for 40 hours. Candidates must be able to start work no later than January 5th, 2026 and there will be a slight preference for earlier start dates. Otherwise, the duration and timeframe of this internship are flexible depending on the candidate and their situation.

Compensation

We're open to applications across Latin America and will determine compensation for other locales as-needed.

Mexico - 18000 pesos per month
Brazil - 5250 R$ per month
Peru - 3500 S/ per month
Colombia - 3900000 COP per month

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • A passion for games and entertainment that shows. Whether you love video games, board games, cosplay, or freeze tag — we want to know! If it doesn’t shine through your resume (e.g. work, academic, or community experience), please submit a cover letter.
  • 2+ years of programming experience (academic or demonstrable personal projects are acceptable)
  • Strong Computer Science fundamentals.
  • Enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a university Computer Science program or an equivalent program.
  • Experience working in a game engine such as Unity, Unreal, or Godot (hobbyist and academic projects are acceptable)
  • Experience using version control software (git, perforce, etc.)
  • Self-motivated and willing to work in multiple areas of game development
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills

Pluses

  • Worked on a code base with 3 or more engineers
  • Experience working with Unreal Engine or C++
  • Any showable game projects, or portfolios of your work

Your responsibilities

  • Delivering and maintaining key features for our engaged and dedicated fan base!
  • Develop and maintain features writing in ActionScript, C++, C#, and/or PHP.
  • Show strong initiative when planning and executing your tasks.
  • Clearly communicate progress on tickets with other team members
  • Regularly contribute to team meetings and rituals.
  • Speak up and improve our company culture where possible!

Gamebreaking Studios is a young, growing, LA-based company founded by technology leaders from around games, entertainment, and software. We found early success providing work-for-hire to other studios and now build everything from end-to-end games to online game platforms to individual feature integrations. This position is open to candidates living and working in Latin America. Applicants must be fluent in English, willing to work according to US time zones (must be available 8am - 3pm Pacific Time), and have a strong, stable internet connection conducive to remote work and video calls.
