“What? Gamebreaking is evolving!” Our company’s next evolution includes a team to pitch, prototype, and develop games end-to-end. This isn’t our first time shipping games, but we’re looking to make it a permanent part of our business. This team will pitch games to partners and publishers in new and existing IPs, then bring those ideas to life.

As Lead Game Designer, you’ll be the nucleus of this new team. As such, you’ll cultivate a team that’s welcoming, open, and conducive to exceptional creative work. You’ll feed on variety, and help us conceive and produce games of all shapes and sizes. First, you’ll collaborate with art and business to match exceptional ideas to perfect partners and sell them on your team’s vision. Then, you’ll join up with engineering, art, and production to make that vision a reality.

Gamebreaking is a 100% employee-owned company. We grew from nothing to a stable, prospering company with no outside investors. That means we work differently, and we like it that way. Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in professional game design
  • Experience working on a shipped title
  • Demonstrated experience owning a major story arc, feature, or level design
  • A deep understanding of multiplayer games

Your Responsibilities

  • Grow a healthy new team that produces remarkable creative work

This position is open to candidates living and working in North and South America. Applicants must be fluent in English, willing to work according to US time zones (must be available 8am - 3pm Pacific Time), and have a strong, stable internet connection conducive to remote work and video calls. Outside the US, we work with an Employer of Record to hire full-time employees. This works very similar to how employees would work for a company based in their home country. Note that work authorization in the country you will work from is still required.
